The Hairbrained Confidence Index is not a formal scientific panel or academic study. Instead, it's a recurring trend analysis designed to track the evolving mood and outlook of professional hairdressers across the U.S.

Conducted quarterly—January, April, July, and October—the Index invites participants to reflect on the previous three months and share expectations for the next three. This approach captures real-time shifts in professional satisfaction, financial stability, and business confidence, providing a practical read on industry sentiment.

While results are not intended to be statistically predictive, the survey's consistency in timing, structure, and core questions gives it strong validity as a directional indicator.

By comparing responses over time, we can surface patterns and emerging trends that highlight what's influencing hairdressers today—and what may shape the industry tomorrow.
