The Art of Extensions: An Italian Journey with Great Lengths

Top hairdressers are invited to experience the beauty of Rome and the artistry of Great Lengths extensions.

Top Great Lengths ambassadors during their Roman holiday

Top Great Lengths ambassadors enjoy their time during their Roman holiday to discover firsthand how the extensions are meticulously handcrafted.

Rome is a city that feels alive in every breath—a living love letter to art, passion and beauty itself. Golden sunlight spills across ancient ruins, where centuries of craftsmanship and devotion to detail are woven into the very fabric of the city. Therefore, it's not surprising that premier hair extension company Great Lengths was born here, in a place where artistry and excellence are part of everyday life. Just as Rome blends history with modern elegance, Great Lengths interweaves beauty with innovation—transforming hair into something timeless, luxurious and effortlessly chic.

A Taste of Roman Elegance: Dining and Discovery

Upon arrival, guests were treated to an exclusive, intimate dinner at an elegant Italian restaurant in the heart of the city, then awoke the next morning to tour the Great Lengths factory in Nepi, just outside of Rome, to witness the manufacturing process in person. "It was so magical seeing the process, and you realize how much work it takes," says Dimitris. "They're luxury hair extensions." Danielle agrees, saying, "It's just so interesting how much hand-crafted work goes into each bundle of hair."

"We are obsessed with the quality of our hair. We pay attention to each and every detail of the process."

Luxury You Can Trust: Ethically Sourced, Handcrafted Extensions

Great Lengths is proud not only of its Roman heritage, which CEO Vito Pollina says dates back to 1992, but also of the fact that the hair used is ethically sourced, fully traceable and of the highest quality. "We are obsessed with the quality of our hair," Vito explains. "We pay attention to each and every detail of the process." What's more, Great Lengths is the only extension company that is B Corp certified, which is a rigorous process whereby companies must demonstrate high social and environmental performance, as well as complete transparency regarding the impact and operations of their businesses. "The quality of hair is up there, but the ethics behind it are so important to us," Riawna exclaims.

From Inspiration to Creation: Hands in Hair

After the tour, the hairdressers were able to get their hands in hair (the best part!), and create some eye-catching, scroll-stopping styles. "We had all the top artists in action, and wow!" exclaims Naomi. "This is what our team is all about: to have totally different artists create a beautiful vision. It was just awesome." While each of the looks were unique, they all exuded a chicness and elegance that only Great Lengths can deliver.

Danielle Keasling's completed transformation

Danielle Keasling transformed her model's hair from blunt bob to Hollywood glam

"My model had a nice, pretty blunt bob with some really short layers up on top—I love a good challenge," says Danielle with a laugh. "We gave her not only a complete lengthening transformation, but she had never experienced hair color before, so it was a perfect opportunity to also give her a chemical-free balayage."

"The look we created on our model is kind of our signature Nine Zero One girl, with an effortless, beachy California vibe," says Nikki, with Riawna adding, "It's pretty much au naturel."

Crowning the Journey: Timeless Roman Beauty and Sunset Gardens

The magic continued a third day, with guests touring the Musei Capitolini, a group of museums dating back to the 15th century set around a square designed by Michaelangelo and dedicated to the art and history of ancient Rome. Surrounded by centuries of art and architecture, the tour concluded with a sunset aperitif at the Villa Borghese Gardens, a park abundant with ancient sculptures, fountains and lush gardens. Each ambassador was thrilled by the trip. "It was so great meeting all these talented people from all over the globe," enthuses PJ. "This has been such an amazing experience," Danielle agrees. "It's just so incredible to walk through history."
